Before launching RBC Group, David Rather was Vice President of Sales and Field Service
for CIGNA Group Insurance, a division of CIGNA Corporation. Responsibilities included
customer acquisition and retention, profit, and the development of staff. He was a key
member of the leadership team that developed the distribution strategy and value
proposition employed by CGI.
With over 24 years experience in insurance distribution, Dave is also an expert in distribution effectiveness, disability management models, integration of overall benefit programs, and leadership development. Prior to joining CIGNA, Dave spent 17 years with UnumProvident, including responsibility for running their United Kingdom distribution effort as Director of Distribution. This international experience gives RBC Group unique insight into issues surrounding distribution strategies that span across cultures and countries. Dave holds a BS/BA degree in Chemistry from The University of Northern Colorado.
